El Alba is a Designer Knitwear brand focused on high-quality hand made goods in wool and natural fibres.

 

El alba is very focused on hand made processes and in the inherited skills of knitting and weaving. The identity was designed based on these concepts and the idea of representing the "patterns" of weaving in a very graphical way to complement the identity. The whole identity was made by hand, from typography, isotype to patterns and lettering.

 

The brand designer was inspired by the book Cabinets of wonders, that collects photographs of diverse and strange objects from different parts of Europe together with the illustrations of Edward Gorey and these two influences had a major role in defining the brand identity and aesthetic, which has a certain dark mysterious element to it.
